Events

PAMBA events include the Biannual PAMBA Conference, along with group sessions at the American Philosophical Association meetings and adhoc workshops.

The Biannual PAMBA Conference is a venue for invited and submitted presentations. As a new organization supporting an emerging field of philosophy, we seek to reduce barriers to attendance by waiving conference and membership fees. In addition, we seek to support early career researchers with travel bursaries whenever possible, and by sponsoring the PAMBA Prize:

Philosophy of Animal Minds and Behavior Association Essay Prize for Emerging Scholars. This prize is open to PhD students and those within 5 years of receiving their PhD. The winner receives a travel budget of up to $3000 CAD, gives the PAMBA Prize lecture at the Biannual PAMBA Conference, and the prizewinning paper will be published in Biology & Philosophy.
